This is from the ballet Manon...when I was searching for a dance move that I could possibly draw for Ahiru and Fakia or Mytho or Ruu....I really loved this scene from the dance so I drew it. The intimacy of the two figures~~ I have no idea what story Manon is about though.
Beautiful. You really got the intricacy of a ballet pose down, without losing any of the detail or splendor. Excellent excellent work, though the man's left foot seems a tad awkward, and his right hand is lacking fingers.
oh the foot! yes. It may seem awkward, and I may be wrong, but I just drew what he danced. ^__^ thank you so much for visiting and leaving behind a comment. I am such a slacker when it comes to hands....gomen nasai!
I love it!!! Wow, that looks incredible! It just makes me ill! It is just wonderful and I'm really jealous of your skill. But I love you anyway. (wink)
Thank you!! I love you too!!! I envy your style and technique too!!!! I want to get more materials so I can draw more ballet sketches!!! There is so much to gain from sketching ballet dancers!!!! The human body, the legs, the weight and weightlessness, the communications between the dancers, communications from the dancers.....
Yes, I think you will get a lot of learning by studying ballet dancers. Not just movement and body language, but heaps of expression and nuance. Hey, and all those skintight clothes teach a lot about anatomy. (remember: 'Lookie, he's European! See, you can tell he's uncircumcised because he's not wearing athletic support!')
I was so so so happy. This last Saturday, I was able to see the British Royal Ballet's perfermance of Manon!!!!! It was their first visit to Korea in TEN years! I was very lucky to see them. I wish that I could have asked for their autograph.... but...I hope that it would not be my last time seeing them!! Really!! I am starting to prefer them over Bolshoi Ballet!
thankyou so much! I was really inspired by Princess Tutu. There are so many themes and concepts intermingled in the whole of the animation. The music, the boundaries of Stories and the Real World, Tragedies and Happy Endings, and Selfless Love.....I am such a NUT for Princess Tutu. As a story writer myself, I know how truly difficult it is to write a Happy Ending, and Princess Tutu just proves just how much effort is needed to make an ending so that it is moving and happy.
i added this to my favorites, i never really commented on it, but i guess i should since you did on my hand, thnx btw. it's really awesome, you captured the grace very well. i havent been able to really cature a feeling, i add to my favorites the art that makes me feel something. this one really did ^_^
